The Commonwealth Working Dog Club is the premier training club for competitive Schutzhund sport in the mid-Atlantic area.   It is not a commercial training service,  but for those who are dedicated to training their own dogs under the guidance of experienced dog trainers and with the assistance of fellow club members.

Not for the faint of heart, as all members must attend majority of training sessions, show dedication to training and have progress with their dogs in order to maintain full membership.  CWDC is for the serious Schutzhund competitor only.  All members most go through a three month trial period before the club votes on potential membership.

The Commonwealth Working Dog Club (CWDC) is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The CWDC is affiliated with the North Region (Kreisgruppe) of the State Association (Landesverband) America within the German Association of Working Dog Clubs (Deutscher Verband der Gebrauchshundsportvereine, DVG).
