My name is Wendy. I have been a member with the Commonwealth Working Dog Club for about a year. I am working with Wito (German Shepherd).
He is the first dog that I have ever done Schutzhund training with. We are a work in progress. I have always had a huge love for dogs
and especially work dogs. I now have a huge love for the sport Schutzhund. I handled a bomb dog for the Prince George's County Sheriffs
Office for 3 1/2 years. I do have my trainers certification for detection dogs(Both Narcotics and Explosives). I have attended several
detection seminars through the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA), United States Police Canine Association (USPCA)
and classes put on by the Alcohol, Tobbaco and Firearms (ATF). I plan on attending several seminars for Schutzhund in the near future.
You must have a very open mind when it comes to training dogs. Each handler, dog and trainer is different in their opinions. I go
by the motto "Everything happens for a reason"!!
